Salvation Army

The Salvation Army Family Store at Shop 42 sells donated clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and books, and the profits go straight back into the Salvation Army’s community work rather than to a retail owner.

It works both ways — cheap goods for households watching the budget, and a route for getting usable things out of your place and back into circulation. Donations can be dropped at the store, or you can book a free truck pickup on 0800 4 COLLECT for larger items. Goods need to be clean and in working order; the stores spend a lot each year disposing of things they cannot sell.
